Dove Season is September 1st to 15th
Dove hunts are a typically action-packed and fun hunting experience and a great warm-up for the Waterfowl season!
These excursions take place in the Butte City, Galt and Freeport areas. We hunt over sunflower, safflower and wheat fields. In addition to feed, these properties offer roost and water for the dove, which makes for some great hunts.
Dove hunts are “self-guided”, unless assistance from a guide is needed and arranged in advance. A guide escorts the hunters to their location. Hunters stay with their own parties, groups are not combined.
The Hunt
Hunters meet us at the designated hunting property. Upon arrival, your guide will escort you to your hunting location and brief you on the probable flight and behavior of the birds.
Please note that, due to the heat, we do not bring our retrieving dogs on dove hunts.
